APACI Influenza Workshop, Malaysia

The Asia-Pacific Alliance for the Control of Influenza (APACI) is holding an Influenza Workshop in Kuala Lumpur on Monday 24 October 2016, at the Park Royal hotel, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Registration is free and will open soon.

The meeting will be ideal for Healthcare Professionals, Medical Students, Virologists, Epidemiologists, and Government & Public Health Officials.

Conference objectives:
  • Assess official influenza control policies within the Asia-Pacific region, and consider policy   approaches to improve influenza vaccine uptake.
  • Review surveillance in the region and measures used to determine burden of disease.
  • Provide updates on best practices for prevention and treatment of influenza.
  • Highlight new developments in Malaysia.

  • Global impact of influenza
  • Surveillance systems and epidemiology of influenza in Malaysia
  • Clinical impact of influenza in Malaysia
  • Vaccination of pregnant women (to protect the mother and infant)
  • Paediatric influenza vaccination
  • Vaccine effectiveness and new vaccines
  • Current treatment and management of influenza
  • Animal and zoonotic influenza
  • WHO pandemic preparedness plans
